Deftones take over the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Tx 5-3

Deftones finally brought their North American tour to a sold-out AT&T Center on Tuesday night (May 3), despite the tour being twice-postponed (it was originally slated for summer 2020), Touring in support of their most recent album "Ohms " and the 20th-anniversary edition of White Pony, this show was a long time coming. Supporting act Gojira and Vowws would kick of the evening.



As soon as the lights went down “Pompeji” filled the arena with chest-thumping bass as the stage was pumped full of smoke. “Genesis”, the opening track from their latest studio album Ohms, started and the arena was electrified. Chino Moreno emerged from the shadows as the band kicked off the show. It didn't take long for the crowd surfing to commence, by the start of the second song "Rocket Skates", surfing was in full effect.


Guitarist Stephan Carpenter with his super cool rock and roll attitude and stage presence was rock solid. The band: Lance Jackman (Guitar), Frank Delgado- (keyboards). Abe Cunningham (Drums)nineteen-song. Fred Sablan (Bass) who is the new touring bassist sounded polished and tight.

The nineteen-song setlist spanned the band's entire career and gave the fans a killer night of the "best of", as well as a few deep cuts. The sound and light show was simply mind-blowing. Fan favorites “My Own Summer (Shove It)”, “Diamond Eyes”, and “Change (In The House Of Flies)” kept the fans singing along. The night would end with an encore of "Lotion" and the driving "Engine No 9"whipping the crowd into a frenzy one last time.
