Steel Panther supporting their new album "On The Prowl", finally returned to the Alamo City for a weeknight feel-good rock and roll party. Along for the ride are the groove riff masters Crobot and New Yorks's band Tragedy who happens to be a Heavy metal tribute to the Bee Gees. Imagine that. Both of the openers are very entertaining and musically solid.

The Aztec Theater in downtown San Antonio was transformed into a different time and place, a 19 80 something, Hollywood where hair bands ruled the sunset strip and every night was a party. , Looking around at all the huge, exaggerated wigs, headbands, and spandex it was very convincing that you were there.
Steel Panther hit the stage with “Eyes of a Panther” followed by "Let me cum in" getting the crowd moving right out of the gate. the band is sounding great and looking every bit glam metal gods. Michael Starr took the stage ready to entice the ladies in the audience strutting around like a rooster in a hen house. Guitarist and MC for the night Satchel came out with guns blazing showing the audience what 80s shred guitar is all about. This would be my first time seeing Steel Panther perform without bassist Lexxi Foxx in the line-up. I was intrigued to see how the new bassist Spyder would fit it during a live performance. He wore his spandex proudly and fit right in with the band not missing a beat. Drummer Stix Zadinia was solid and steady as a rock.
Steel Panther as much as they are viewed as a parody, they are a really great band that writes catchy pop-rock songs that take you back to a much more fun time in life and music. Tonight's set was different from the old standby setlist featuring three new songs "1987", "Aint Dead Yet" and "Never Too Late" off the new album "On The Prowl." SP would also play a few songs that I don't recall hearing them play live in the past.
It wouldn't be a Steel Panther without the band inviting the ladies up on stage for the singing of “Never Too Late (To Get Some Pussy Tonight)” & “Party All Day (Fuck All Night). This band always fills the room with good vibes and good times, just what we need these days. The night would end with the masterpiece "Gloryhole". Although some of my favorites didn't make the setlist this time, it still was a hell of a show that just never gets old.
