The good guys in yellow and black were back in the Alamo City celebrating 40 years of rock music with a positive message. On this tour, Stryper would perform two different sets .Set one would consist of the early breakout/ MTV years and the second would be more recent offerings from the band. No opening band would be required.
The band kicked off the evening with fan-favorite classic Stryper hits from the earlier years, including "Soldiers Under Command", "Calling on You", and "Free" just to name a few. The band would be dressed in classic yellow and black attire and sounded absolutely awesome.
After a 30-minute intermission, the band would once again take the stage with new clothing. new guitars and a set full of modern-day,, hard-hitting offerings from recent releases as well the title track from the new album "When We Were Kings"
"No more hell to pay", "Four-leaf Clover" and "Divider" would be highlighted in this seldom-heard side of Stryper. The band sounded great and the production was top-notch. It is hard to believe it has been 40 years since these guys hit the scene. My how time flies. At this time the first leg of the tour is over with the second leg starting on Oct 13 in Nashville, TN
