The Titans invade the Aztec Theater in San Antonio 10-19

The "Klash Of The Titans" tour made a stop in the Alamo City to a packed house at the historic Aztec Theater. . Metal heads of all ages were treated to a thrash fest provided by metal with thrash royalty TESTAMENT, KREATOR. and death metal pioneers POSSESSED

Unfortunately due to wonderful San Antonio traffic, I was not able to get to the venue to catch much of Possessed, but from what I did see they performed a solid eight-song set consisting of mostly early fan-favorite material. Possessed doesn't come this way often so it was a treat for the die-hard fans.

German Thrash metal giants Kreator would take the stage next transforming it into a scene from a horror film. Demon statues would sit on each side of the stage along with a giant skull inflatable behind the drum kit. A number of "bodies" would be hanging from the light tressels. Quite the scene. With the elaborate setup, would the band deliver? That would be yes. Kreator tore the roof off the historic theater, with songs like "Satan is Real" and "Strongest of the Strong" the place was rocking.

Testament would take their turn on the Aztec's stage to finish up this night of epic thrash metal. The band would pull songs from newly remastered classics "The New Order" and "The Legacy" exclusively so, if you were an old-school Testament fan you were in the right place.

The band was firing on all cylinders bringing chest-thumping, hard-hitting thrash greatness to the masses. It is a real treat for the thrash community to get double-headliner shows like this in such an intimate venue. It makes you feel like part of the show. Judging by Saturday's crowd, thrash/ metal music is alive and well.
